Thursday, 15th June: Landed at Changi Airport at 7am, after an entire night of movies and no sleep. After I arrived, went out the entire day with my sis to 'catch up' a little and 'hang out', reviving the memories of e good ol' days.
Sunday, 18th June: After spending the next two days catching up with some sleep and unpacking and repacking, it was time to head off for a family holiday in Bali. Spent three days in Kuta, and then it was off to Ubud.
Friday, 23rd June: Bags packed, and we headed back to Singapore. The last thing I ate in Bali, was, sadly but true, a Mc Donald's soft serve. Somehow their soft serves there taste better than any other.
Saturday, 24th June: Laundry, laundry, and more laundry. Oh, and of course, cleaning the house a lil'... before we left to...
Sunday, 25th June: PENANG. Leaving the house at 6:30am we finally reached Ipoh for a pit stop and some lunch at around 2pm, and then it was off to Penang.
Friday, 30th June: We left Penang, back again to 55 Holland Road.
So here I am now, typing away on my fragile new toy - my new baby - ok, my new laptop. Which, in case you were wondering, was purchased only two days ago, the day after we arrived home from Penang.
This concludes my timeline. <-- (haha, i felt like writing that.. cuz usually it's "this concludes my report") ok, enough gibberish... or as my dearest ex-English teacher, Mr Patsula would say, "UGH" which stands for U (you) Give me a Headeache. Picture time!
The Barong, and his friend the monkey. This is perhaps the most iconic image of Bali. The Balinese people are very religious people, and they believe in the Hindu God. The Barong is seen as a mythological animal that represents the good spirit, as opposed to the Rangda, the bad spirit. This photograph was taken during the Barong and Kris dance, and at the end of the performance, a group of Balinese men appear and begun stabbing themselves with the Kris (an Indonesian version of a short sword) while being sprinkled with holy water. To the amazement of the audiences, the kris no harm to them. Instead, due to the strength of these men, their kris were bent. I was going to put a pic of them, but thanks to the very reliable blogspot, my pictures aren't uploading. So guess I'll just end here.. maybe next time!
